More than 54 minority groups in Vietnam have their own traditional dances. Apart from the popular traditional dances, the dominant Kinh ethnicity is known for a variety of new dance forms which are developed over the past centuries. The dance is performed with eye-catching costumes and heavy makeup. The traditional dance forms of Vietnam are divided into the categories of Dragon/ Lion dance, Fan dance, Hat dance, Lantern dance. The Vietnamese traditional dance shows the vibrant performance culture of the country.




Theater


Vietnam offers very unique styles and flavors of theater. The major genres of theater present in the country are Hat Tuong or hat boi, Cai Luong and Mua roi nuoc or water puppetry.

Religion


Although Vietnam is an atheist country officially, still, the different religions present in the country play a major role and affect the day to day life of the country. The dominant religion in Vietnam is Vietnamese folk religion but followers of Buddhism, Catholicism and Protestantism is also present in the country.
