How to extend a student visa?


The international students who are studying in Vietnam and want to extend their visa must apply 3 weeks before the visa expiry date.

Eligibility: An student is eligible for an extension of visa only if he is enrolled in university either in IU awarded program, twining program or exchange program.

Proof of payment of tuition fees must also be submitted along with the application for extension of visa.

1) Original passport with validity above six months.

2) Original certificate of temporary residence in Vietnam.

3) Student ID card.

4) One passport size photo.

5) Fees applicable is the US $10 for every six months extension.

How to extend a tourist visa?


1) As per the rule in Vietnam, you can only extend your visa through a local travel agency. So stay safe back at your place and contact any local travel agency for the process or apply at any Vietnam visa extension service online.

2) You can extend your tourist visa till the maximum duration of 6 months only i.e. your total period of stay is less than 6 months.

3) If you have a visa for 3 months you can extend it up to another 3 months.

4) You can extend your visa for a maximum of 2 times only. The extended visa is stamped in the passport with the new duration of stay.
